2013 WCOOP – Kenney Comes Mightly Close

Another day at the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker saw another four events completed, meaning many more big winners at the world’s number one poker site. We even came close to seeing and established pro take down a bracelet as Bryn Kenney as runner up in one of the events.

Event #43 – $215 No Limit Holdem $1,000,000 Gtd

The very first event that was completed today was another Holdem event that was offering a $1 million prize pool guarantee. As it turned out that prize pool was actually $1,662,600 after an astonishing amount of players totalling 8,313 turned out to take part.

After a two way deal during heads up, it was the runner up in “Palmero92” that took the largest slice of that prize pool, but it was the winner “JNandez87” that claimed the bracelet and title.

The second event almost had an established and well known pro take down the title as Bryn Kenney finished as runner up from the 1,437 starters. The prize pool that was created by that number was $2,874,000 with Kenney taking home $350,628 and the winner “paphita” securing $480,101.70.

Up next was a 5 card Omaha event that brought in 462 players to create a prize pool of $286,500 to be shared amongst the top 60 players. After a solid twelve hours of action it was “UziStuNNa” that came away with the victory and bracelet, banking $39,380.06 for his efforts.

The fourth and final event that was finished up switched back to the more favourable Holdem format. It attracted 4,076 players and built up a guarantee busting prize pool of $659,293, leaving $103,511.87 for the winner and the rest shared out amongst the top 540 players.

That winner was “RommyTheCute” after the player claimed the victory and bracelet after coming out on top against “bootswild” during heads up.
