2014 WCOOP – “Assad91” Wins Second Title of Series

The PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker is still going strong and we have another update for a selection of the events that have been played out recently. Before we get onto the action however, we thought we would show you just how serious a few of the big names are taking this series in search of honours.

 

Event #24 – $700 No Limit Hold’em

With 3,417 players signing up for Event #4, it proved to be yet another success story during this year’s WCOOP. That total gave a prize pool of $2,272,305 with 432 of those players getting their hands on some of it.  “NikolasDLP” eventually took down the title and first place payout of $356,754.09 after seeing off “GadMO” heads up.

Event #25 – $215 No Limit Hold’em

This event also proved to be popular after a field of 2,219 players registered for it. This developed a prize pool of $443,800 which was to be split among the top 280 finishers. “brianm15” was the player to secure the largest slice however after beating off “Stella948” heads up to claim the top prize of $68,558.92.

Event #28 – $320 Miced Holdem

This event brought up probably the biggest news of the series so far after “Assad91” scooped his second WCOOP title of the year to put him right at the top of the Player of the Year leaderboard. He had to beat off 490 players in this event before finally claiming victory after defeating “bergeroo” heads up to win $27,930.

Event #29 – $320 Limit Badugi

Badugi is far from the most played poker variations out there but it still attracted 276 players to build a prize pool of $82,800. This meant just 40 players would finish in the money and it was “hummylun” that proved to be the victor, scooping $16,146 in the process.

With 1,631 players taking part in this $1k event it created a prize pool of $1,631,000 and would pay out to the top 198 of them. After an intense heads up battle between “MskrevFIX” and “chiconogue” it was the former that came out on top to bank the $273,192.50 on offer for the winner.

A five way deal was struck on the final table of this event that drew in 396 players, 343 re0buys and another 193 add-ons. After a frantic final table it was “Kikki-mikk” that came out of the bingo fest with the title and a payout of $25,534.65.
