Atlantic City To See Return of WPT In 2015

Atlantic City New Jersey

Atlantic City is set to see a whole lot more World Poker Tour action in 2015 after the WPT announced that due to the success of the season ending WPT World Championship at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, they will now be holding four events at the casino for Season XIII.

This is once again set to include the World Poker Tour World Championship which is scheduled to take place on the 24th of April next year.

Before last season, the season ending WPT World Championship was always held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas but a change last season saw it move to the Borgata in Atlantic City. This proved to be a successful move after a newly reduced buy-in of $15,400 brought in a huge field of 328 players. The event had a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and it was Keven Stammen that eventually took the title and payout of $1.35 million.

This success has led to the World Poker Tour expanding the amount of events in Atlantic City for next season, something that many of the players will be overjoyed with.

Adam Pliska who is the President of the World Poker Tour said in a statement:

“As a long-standing partner of the World Poker Tour with an unparalleled tournament staff, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is the perfect venue to host four televised WPT events in Season XIII, we are thrilled to return to Borgata for the season-ending WPT World Championship after a successful transition in Season XII, and with the ability to generate massive prize pools, draw the biggest names in poker, and qualify players to events,”

Whilst the Senior Vice President of Operations at the Borgata added:

“The commitment from the World Poker Tour for two more televised events in 2015, including the return of the flagship WPT World Championship, further cements Borgata as the premiere poker destination on the East Coast and the dominant force in online gaming in New Jersey.”

We expect that each of the events will be the usual success at the Borgata and are already looking forward to seeing the action at each of them. We will of course be following that action and letting our readers know exactly who is holding all the right cards. So make sure you come and check us out whilst each of those events play out.
