It has been spotted on Twitter that one player known as “Blitz” or Dan “Blitz” Bilzerian blew away $2.5 million worth of his fortune playing a high stakes poker game at the Aria in Las Vegas.
The Aria is famous for hosting several series of televised Poker After Dark high stakes poker games regularly starring some of the top poker pros on the circuit. Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan are regulars on the show as well their pal Patrick Antonius, who seems to rarely make a profit on television, but he has some pretty decent online stats.
Dan “Blitz” Bilzerian fancied a game of high stakes poker at the Aria and he later tweeted about his massive loss at the poker venue. “Blitz” is the son of Paul Bilzerian, who specialises in taking over companies in order to turn them around, or as a capital venturous in many respects as he continues to finance their growth or source someone that can.
It seems he may have unwittingly partially bank rolled his son’s demise to which after he gave his some advice that may be useful for the future. With that tweet is an Instagram link to the chip stack Dan “Blitz” Bilzerian was playing with and apparently this was around $2.5 million worth.
The game Bilzerian was in was apparently the $2,000/$5,000 No Limit Hold’em tables being played by Tom Dwan and Richard Yong, as well as a few other top stars getting involved. In the picture on Instagram you can see that there is a stack of $100,000 chips with a few more stacked on top and some $5,000 chips on the right hand side. Just in front of the stack of $100,000 chips are $25,000 chips, so this game was no joke!
No one has confirmed exactly who benefited the most of this Dan Bilzerian giveaway, but whoever was sitting at that table will be a fair few thousand dollars in the green right now.
As one of the replies to the tweets says, the money was probably nothing to Dan as his father is a billionaire and so this wouldn’t even make a slight dent in the family fortune!
@DanBilzerian $2.478m? Probably just a drop in the bucket. #balling
