We are now right at the serious end of business in the first European Poker Tour Main Event of Season 10 as the EPT Barcelona is now down to just the eight players that will occupy the final table later today.
The day started with 24 players and the British pro Tom Middleton holding the chip lead, a lead in which he still has over the final eight going into Day 6 today. He has 9,850,000 which allows him a gap of around 2,500,000 million over his nearest challenger Kresten Nielsen.
Day 5 also saw 16 eliminations with notable’s players Niall Farrell and Anaras Alekberovas being amongst them. They will leave the event knowing that they at least took home more than €50,000 each.
Oh well, A9<QT to get back to over 2 mil. Not to be. Thanks for all the support guys, means a lot.

The final table bubble boy was Alejandro Perez after he was the shortest stack of the final nine; he was eventually eliminated when he got all of his chips into the middle with a Q-J that couldn’t out draw the A-10 of Benoit Gury. He finished in ninth place for a score of €79,000 leaving just the eight players still in with a great chance of scooping this title.
