EPT London ME Day 1b – Senft Leads Tough Group (vids)

Maximilian Senft

We predicted it and we were right as the 389 field on Day 1b of the European Poker Tour London Main Event almost doubled that of the 209 that took part on the previous opening day flight. This brought us a total so far of 598 registrants for this event, though with registration still open until the start of Day 2, this number should grow a little bigger.

By the time Day 1b was finished there were 230 survivors that would be joining the 105 that progressed from Day 1a into Day 2. At the top of the chip counts was Maximilian Senft, though right behind him in the top ten are some extremely tough players. Among them were Davidi Kitai, Chris Brammer, John Juanda and Dave Ulliot, all putting themselves in a great position to make a deep run in this event.

Also making it through the day were some very big names as Liv Boeree, Daniel Negreanu, Marvin Rettenmaier, Phil Hellmuth, Vanessa Rousso and Barry Greenstein with all them progressing with varying chip counts.

There were more than 150 eliminations on Day 1b, with a small percentage of them being world renowned pokers players. Among them were Chris Moneymaker, Kevin MacPhee, Chris Moorman, Martin Finger, Max Silver, David Benefield, Jason Mercier and UKIPT High Roller winner Vanessa Selbst.

The players that did survive will now be returning to the tables for the start of Day 2 at midday today, so return to us tomorrow to get fully updated on how it played out.
