EPT Looking To Break Records Once Again

Prague on a map

2014 has certainly been a year of records being broken, especially with regards to the PokerStars European Poker Tour, yet it is expected that there are to be more at the last stop of the year in Prague this December.

The festival which has affectionately be labeled the Christmas event, is fast approaching once again and the expectation is that it will be hugely popular once more.

The festival which is to kick into action on the 7th of December and run until the 18th, is the last big event on the poker calendar before Christmas and has always proved to be extremely popular. In fact last year broke all previous records for the both the EPT and Eureka Main Events with a field of 1,007 for the former and 1,315 for the latter.

European Poker Tour President Ed Stuchly said in a statement:

“The Prague Poker Festival always attracts a large number of players who play both tournaments and cash games, this year’s festival has potential to be even bigger than last season, where both the Eureka and EPT Main Events shattered records.”

In total there were prize pools of a combined €13 million across each of the 47 events that played out in Prague last year and combined fields of more than 9,000 players.

The strong belief that this year will once again be a huge affair is down to the fact that there will be even more on offer for the players. This time there will be 59 events as there will be the addition of Midnight Turbo events, three new Omaha Championship events, a Juniors Event, Finnish Championship event, a new Seniors Event and the first ever Super High Roller to be played in Prague.

These new events are sure to attract even more players than usual and create even larger prize pools that have been seen in the past. There is literally something on offer for everybody with buy-ins being suited to a wide variety of bankrolls.

These will all be on top of the usual schedule of events that includes the Main Event and High Roller events on both tours as well as the usual side event action.

Of course, along with the tournaments will be a whole host of other entertainment on offer for the players, with the usual parties and activities being provided to get people in the spirit for Christmas.

As always, we will be providing regular updates on all of the major action that takes place in Prague and providing any other news that develops. So you know just where to come once the fun and games kick off over in Prague.
