EPT Prague Main Event Day 2 – Beskrovnyy Leads Final 162

The second day of the ever popular European Poker Tour Prague Main Event was consigned to the history books yesterday, with the chip leader going into the day Iosef Beskrovnyy finishing the day in exactly the same spot.

He bagged up a total of 625,200 chips which has him just under 150k ahead of Martin Hanowski in second place with 484,000. There is a further 80k to go back before the next challenger emerges, with that being Sergio Aido Espina.

When the action started, there were 462 players vying to climb up the rankings as high as possible, with only 167 managing to see themselves through to Day 3. Beskrovnyy was obviously the man to watch during the day, yet there were some other very strong performances too.

Hanowski was certainly one of them as he only came into the day with 115,800 chips but managed to multiply them by four by the end of the day. Another player who continued where he left off was Todd Terry, he was amongst the chip leaders at the start of the day and made sure he was still there by the end of it.

There were still a strong group of players in the chasing pack too which included three PokerStars Pros in the shape of Pier Fabretti, Johnny Lodden and the legend that is Bertrand Grospellier. Additionally there are big names like Fabrice Soulier, Jeff Sarwer, Christopher Brammer and a certain Ramzi Jelassi all running well.

Not Everyone Could Make It Through!

The strength of the field meant that there would obviously be some high profile casualties with players of the ilk of Chris Moorman, Martin Finger, Toby Lewis and the ever aggressive Fabian Quoss not having enough to get through. We also lost a whole bunch of PokerStars Team Pros as Jason Mercier, Eugene Katchalov, Marcin Horecki, Toni Judet and Alex Kravchenko all failed to make it into Day 3.

The Current Top Ten!

Iosif Beskrovnyy – 625,200

Martin Hanowski – 484,000

Sergio Aido Espina – 416,400

Cesar Garcia Dominguez – 410,900

Robert Kokoska – 403,400

Fabrice Soulier – 396,200

Todd Terry – 392,300

Chris Brammer – 389,900

Mads Amot – 377,400

Dany Parlafes – 375,000

Day 3 will get underway at noon local time, with the 167 players remaining looking to make their way past the bubble and into the paying places from 120th onwards. That bubble shouldn’t take too long to be burst, so we will let you know exactly who the bubble boy is and all of the other relevant information on the event in our next report tomorrow.
