EPT Vienna High Roller – Soulier Wins Record Event (vid)

Record Breaker

The European Poker Tour came to an end last night after both the Main Event and High Roller events were completed. The latter of those events continued to prove just how popular the High Roller events are on this tour as Vienna broke the attendance record for a High Roller in Season 10.

There were 181 registrations in all which put it just one ahead of the EPT Barcelona High Roller. This created a prize pool of €1,773,800 with the majority of that being shared among the final table that was played out last night.

It was Fabrice Soulier that emerged as the winner after six hours at the table on Day 3 and he will be delighted to claim the €392,900 first place payout. He had to come through a very tough final table that included the likes of PokerStars Team Pro Jonathan Duhamel, Vitaly Lunkin and Benny Spindler.

It was Anatoly Filatov that he had to overcome during heads up though and despite holding a 2-1 chip advantage at the start he actually lost that lead to his opponent before coming back strong himself to claim the title. Filatov will have to make do with a runner up finish and a payout of €265,200 to sooth his disappointment.

With EPT Vienna now consigned to the history books this summer there are now just two more events to look forward to in the EPT Sanremo and EPT Monte Carlo. This was the first Vienna event in three years and it certainly proved just how popular it is with many players tweeting just how great a time they have had.
