Food Poisoning and Panic Attacks Cant Hold Hellmuth Back

The word charity

They say that the great champions in any sport have huge amounts of determination and just do not know when they are beaten. Well, Phil Hellmuth certainly proved that right last night after battling both food poisoning and panic attacks to fulfil his role as an MC at a charity poker bash.

He was part of a line up full of celebrities and poker players that were attending the Derby Poker Celebrity Bourbon Bash, an event that was doing all it could for charity in the build up to the world famous Kentucky Derby horse race.

It seems however that despite being a regular charity poker host a combination of food poisoning and a panic attack was trying its very best to take him out of the game. In true Hellmuth style though, he fought his way through it to return to the stage in order to fulfil his duty and MC for the next three hours.

Andy Frankenberger was also in attendance at the poker bash and it seems that it was him that took the mic whilst Hellmuth was temporarily out of action.

This is exactly the fighting spirit that is needed, especially if he plans on taking home a few more World Series of Poker bracelets in a few weeks time.
