Full Tilt UKIPT Galway ME Day 1a – Hansen, Boeree Out

EV02_25K Heads Up

The crowning event at the Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway Festival started up yesterday as the first batch of players converged onto the felt to take part in Day 1a of the Main Event. In total there were 231 players that coughed up the €1,000+€100 with the hopes of taking home a good share of the €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The player that was sitting the prettiest come the end of the first flight was Alan Gold, after the Full Tilt Poker qualifier finished up with 272,700 in chips, a good 100k ahead of Miklos Soproni in second place.

Amongst the more notable names to progress into Day 2 were Max Silver and Danielle Anderson as both did enough to see them wait until Saturday for the survivors from Day 1b to emerge.

Those That Were Not So Fortunate!

As with any poker tournament, not every big name can expect a guaranteed progression and on this occasion that was the case for Gus Hansen, Barny Boatman, Surindar Sunar, PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree and new Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Martins Adeniya.

The Top Ten From Day 1a

Alan Gold – 272,700
