Genting Poker Big Game – Lee Taylor Scores Valuable Win

Genting Poker Big Game – Lee Taylor Scores Valuable Win

There is definitely plenty of poker action going on in the run up to the festive season, with another event finishing up in the early hours of this morning. The Genting Poker Big Game was being held at the Fox Poker Club in London and was a £1000+£80 buy-in affair.

There was a field of 43 players that decided to take a punt on this event with many others deciding to wait for the Grand Final which is due to kick off on Thursday. However, what made this event so special was the fact that half of each player’s registrations fees were donated by both Genting and the Fox Poker Club to the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Of the players taking part, it was obvious straight away that the event had attracted a top notch field that was intent on taking down the title, with the eventual winner being Lee Taylor. A chop during heads up with Daiva Baruskaite meant that both of the top two actually walked away with the same amount of £14k. When the deal was made she was slightly ahead meaning that the chop was £13k/£14 with just the title and the extra thousand to play for.

Two Wins In Quick Succession For Taylor!

This was the second title Taylor has won within two months as he only just recently took down the GUKPT £500 event held in Blackpool last month. It certainly represents a great end of year for the pro that certainly didn’t have it easy against some top established poker players here.

Third place went to Victor Ilyukhin who is another that has been in good form as of late, especially after his third place finish at the GUKPT Grand Final not so long ago, he took down £6,900 for his efforts. Next up was the popular Barny Boatman, the Hendon Mobster taking down a score of £4,750 for a good days work.

Grand Final Next Up!

That event was seen as the warm up for the big one, the £1,500 + £100 GPS Grand Final. This event will be starting at 1pm GMT on Thursday and will involve two separate opening day flights. The event is a £200k prize pool guaranteed affair and is set to attract quite a field. The Fox Club is still in fact running satellite events to give players a chance to win a seat at a cut down price. These satellites are due to start at 7pm GMT both tonight and tomorrow.

We certainly can’t wait for the main event, with it being one of the events we will be following right through until completion.
