On Wednesday just gone, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom suffered his first blip of 2013 after he dropped around $500k, with most of it going to Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky. However, since then he has completely recouped that amount, all in spite of actually dropping another $550k first.
He initially dropped a $30k against that man “Sauce123” again before taking on two different pros at two different tables. He was playing against “cottonseed1” on the Fixed limit Omaha tables whilst also playing against “durrrr” on the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. Each of these tables brought opposite ends of success.
When up against “cottonseed1” he started out fairly well but then ended up getting completely dominated by his opponent and losing around $450k. However, against “durrrr” he took home $320k across two different sessions.
Once “durrrr” had enough, “Sauce123” took up a seat at the table and promptly dropped $120k to the Swede. Over at Blom’s other table “cottonseed1” had actually now started to claw some of his losses back with Blom finishing that session with a $364k profit.
The Blom vs. Sulsky duel had now moved over to the Pot Limit Omaha tables, with them both playing heads up at two tables.
During this session Blom actually didn’t have the start he had planned, immediately losing his first buy-in of $120k during the very first hand. However, he didn’t let that stop him as he went on to bash his opponent all over the place and ended the session with joint profits from both tables of $640k.
That meant that “Sauce123” had now lost a total of $1 million during this period. It just goes to show how quickly fortunes can change in poker; with “Sauce123” being the highest earner on the highs takes tables in 2012 and Blom struggling, to them now seemingly swapping places for 2013 so far.
It is still early in the year, in fact just two weeks in, so there is a very long way to go for both players.

Amongst the other winners over the past couple of days, we had “KPR16” notching up profits of $315.2k, “cottonseed1” doing well with $270.5k despite losing a bunch to Blom, “davin77” banking $184.4k and “SallyWoo” amassing a profit of $178.8k.
