Luck Of The Irish At The Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway

clovers up close

The Irish have always been known as lucky folk, yet has there ever been more evidence to prove the case than their start at the very first Full Tilt Poker UKIPT Galway Festival? We certainly cannot remember!

Every event at the festival has so far been won by an Irishman (well, except for Gus Hansen the honouree Irishman). All in all that makes it 21 victories by the Irish out of the 60 events held so far as they look to attempt to make it a complete sweep of titles. They have even both of the pool events too, with us believing they are just showing off now!

The only real defeat was in the UK vs. Ireland Heads Up Challenge where the UK won by points despite Gus Hansen winning the tournament outright for Ireland.

Padraig Parkinson Takes Home Event #18 Title

One of the latest of those Irish winners was well known local professional Padraig Parkinson after he claimed victory in the 18th event of the festival. He won the €100 + €10 Pot Limit Omaha Triple Chance. Amongst the other winners yesterday was Irishman Emanuel Barret in the daily held €35 + €5 Daily Grind event.

This friendly yet competitive spirit at the Galway Festival is what has turned into such a popular event so far, one that is sure to continue on a yearly basis from now on.

The Big Names Are On Their Way!

Whilst many of the more notable players have not been at the festival from the start, many are planning on heading over for the UKIPT Main Event which starts on Thursday next week.

Another Full Tilt Festival?

Full Tilt Poker have many fingers in many pies right now and their ‘other’ poker festival over in the Czech Republic has seen 1,458 players hitting the felt in the Full Tilt Poker.net Poker Festival Pardubice Main Event during the opening flights of Day 1.

The event is now into Day 2 where Jonas Killan started the day as the chip leader with 220,300 to put himself in the best position to take home the largest slice of the €133,000 prize pool.
