October’s High Stakes Online Poker

Isildur1

So far we’ve had 10 days of online poker action coming from the nosebleed Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars high stakes Hold’em, Omaha, Draw and 8-Game tables, and so far it’s been the Viktor Blom show all the way.

In 226 sessions and 16,197 hands, Blom has pulled together $1,746,739 in profit. $486,317 of that came from yesterday’s action where Blom played eleven sessions and got through an amazing 1,080 hands. It’s probably safe to say that Blom is back after a dismal September in which he saw most of his yearly profits burn out right in front of him. Last month actually saw Blom cut $1,301,412 out of his yearly profits and in August the damage was even worse after Blom dropped $1,835,270.

“Isildur1” has taken the lion’s share of this month’s winnings through Deuce to Seven Triple Draw where Blom is currently $885,794 up. Although, he’s suffered a $393,310 deficit from playing on the Omaha Hi/Lo tables and $156,320 8-Game. Apart from that mishap everything has worked out well from the Swede. $866,156 has come out of his Texas Hold’em endeavours and another $544,419 coming from Pot Limit Omaha rounding off a great start to the month.

He’s taken $311,690 from the Omaha High/Low games and $135,362 coming out the Triple Draw games, helping him to gather together $447,052 from both styles while adding another $58,948 from 8-Game. His losses that have put a small dent in what is almost half a million, which have come from the PLO games where he’s so far dropped $92,920.

With his recent wins, Hansen has managed to reverse his slide into the $4 million loss zone going back in the right direction back towards the $3 million mark. His losses in fact now stand at $3,674,215 for 2013 with on and off signs of a turnaround, to what has been a bad year so far.

On the subject of losses it is ironic that two players with the same name are in the top 3 of the all-time online poker profits list and are recording this month’s largest losses so far. Phil “Polarizing” Ivey and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond have online career earnings of $19,242,744 and $8,736,105 respectively, but October has not been their month so far.
