For those following the World Cup as well as the World Series of Poker, you may well have noticed an unbelievable scoreline in the semi-final between the host nation Brazil and Germany. Brazil are the most successful World Cup team of all time and Germany are the second most successful, yet in this match, despite being the hosts of the tournament the Brazilians were brushed aside with ease to lose 7-1.
They conceded 5 goals in the first half alone and are now out of the tournament, much to the shock of the footballing world.
This of course led to plenty of shock, banter and arguing being thrown around social media, which also included plenty of poker professionals getting in on the act.

I’ve seen plenty of FIFA games with that score, but the kid playing with Brazil usually just pulls the internet cable out. #WorldCup

Brazil trails, 5-0? 5-0? Well, Colts trailed Chiefs, 38-10, earlier this year and won, 45-44. But Andrew Luck does not play for Brazil.

Watching my first game of the World Cup. How come everyone complains about soccer being low scoring?

A $10M dream down drain – busto WSOP. Always heartbreaking to go out of main event but I’m sure Brazil’s soccer fans feel worse than me.
