PokerStars Eureka Croatia Day 1a – Ebersold Tops Field

Pokerstars chipsWe are now onto the second PokerStars Eureka event of the third season, with it this time coming to Croatia. It has moved cities this time around though as it is now being held in the Rixos Libertas Hotel in Dubrovnik rather than in Zagreb.

This event comes just at the right time for many players as it fills the small gap between now and the WSOP which is going to be getting underway in the next few days. A win here could give a player the confidence to go on and take that form into the most recognised poker series on earth.

The first day of action saw 103 players take to the felt in an attempt to make their way through to Day 2, which by the end of play only 36 of them managed it.

The player that progresses with the most chips is Daniel Ebersold after he bagged and tagged 151,500 at the end of the day to see him top the chip counts. He holds a slender lead over Triantafyllos Chadiroglu on 138,300 in second place.

Day 1b will see four PokerStars Team Pros taking to the felt but on Day 1a there was just one in the British player Dale Phillip. He had a difficult day that was full of ups and downs and eventually fell from the event during the last level after running into pocket kings and coming out second best.

The PokerStars Team Pros that will be taking part in Day2 today will be Johnny Lodden, Mattias and Christophe De Meulder and Dag Polavic.

The Top Ten From Day 1a

Daniel Ebersold – 151,500

Triantafyllos Chadiroglou – 138,300

Alt Chandru – 127,100

Kasparas Klezys – 113,000

Georges Yazbeck – 108,200

Saber Makram – 92,400

Jan Bernd Rullkotter – 86,900

Simon Burri – 76,700

Sefertzis Georgis – 74,600

Tuomas Antero Roppanen – 71,100

Day 2 will be starting at 12pm local time in Croatia and is likely to attract a larger field than what was on display on Day 1a. Those players will be hoping to join the survivors of Day 1a in to Day 2 tomorrow.

We will have a report on Day 1b as soon as we know the score ourselves, so be sure to keep popping in to find out just who will be advancing in the event.
