Whilst many of us with small bankrolls have been watching with envy as the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) was being played out a few weeks ago and wishing we could get involved in a good quality online tournament series, PokerStars knew all along that they would have us covered with the upcoming MicroMillions 9.

The series which will be kicking off on the 6th of November will be bringing along its usual variety of low buy-in events that are catered to allow pretty much any bankroll to take part. Do not be fooled into thinking that just because the buy-ins are low that the prizes will be low too, as the prize pools are usually huge due to the number of players that take part in the tournaments.

There will be a total of 100 events throughout the series right up until the Main Event kicks off on the 16th of November. The MicroMillions is offering combined prize pool guarantees totalling $5 million and has buy-ins for their events from between $0.11 and $11.

Variety of Formats

Not only will you get standard tournaments but you will also be able to take part in Zoom formats, turbos, hyper turbos, bounty, knockouts and many more.

A new addition to the formats will be that of Bubble Dash tournaments that are run at a high speed right up until the bubble period finishes before gradually slowing the deeper that you get. This means that players do not have to spend ages in the tournament before the money places are paid.

Player of the Series

Another incentive to take part in the MicroMillions is the Player of the Series race which will see the winner awarded half a year’s worth of free tickets into the weekly Sunday Million. For anyone else that ranks in the top 100 there will be a host of other prizes up for grabs too.

All you have to do is take part in as many events as you can to accumulate points based on your performances. Keep an eye on the rankings though as many other players will be eyeing those tickets.

The Main Event

As with any tournament series, the biggest event will be that of the Main Event with it offering a prize pool guarantee of $1 million. Tickets are just $22 into this event and if it is anything like last time out, there will be around 60,000 players taking part. This will ensure a first place payout that would be similar to last time when “69FABIAN69” scooped just over $100,000f for his victory.

You could even opt to try and get a ticket into the Main Event for even less than $22 by taking part in the many satellites that could see you get a ticket for no more than just 1 frequent player point.
