“ragen70″ returns to winning ways over “Isildur1″

Niklas Heinecker

Arguably the most successful online poker professional last month was Niklas “ragen70 ” Heinecker and despite suffering minor setbacks at the end of November, he finished the month with a big win over Viktor Blom.

The two players frequently meet at nosebleed limits and lately the German emerged victorious most of the time, with the recent encounter being no exception.

“Isildur1” came out firing on all cylinders and took an early lead at $2k/$4k 2-7 Triple Draw tables, being $60,000 ahead at one point. The amount is significant, but at these limits the tables can turn in a matter of hands and that’s exactly what happened, with “ragen70″ temporary offsetting his losses. As this session came to a conclusion, both players could brag about enjoying a $100,000 upswing, but in the end it was the Swede who prevailed.

Had Blom stopped after two hours of play, he would’ve bagged a nice amount, but he had higher expectations and later that day he challenged Heinecker again. The second session was a lopsided affair, with the German taking the lead from the beginning and the gap separating the two players grew quickly. 227 hands later, Blom realized that it is time to call it a day but by this time he was already $382k behind, which means that overall he lost $320,000 to “ragen70″.

The only player that won against the German was “Follow The Hawk” but the $30,000 lost to him at $500/$1,000 TD tables was more of a nuisance for Heinecker. He finished the day with almost $300k, almost twice as much as the next big winner of the day, “PostflopAction”. The young Russian player also prevailed at $2k/$4k 2-7 Triple Draw tables over Patrik Antonius, for a total of $160,000.

He put his skill and luck to the test at the 8-Game tables but quickly gave up after losing $40k loss to Blom and was more than happy to finish the day with $168k. The only player who came really close to crossing the $100,000 threshold yesterday was SanIker, who once again dominated the $100/$200 NLHE tables. He took advantage of KPR16’s valiant attempts at beating the Texas hold’em no limit heads-up games and scored a big win against “bbvisbadforme”.

Only time will tell whether KPR16 will stick to his favourite FLO8 game or keep chasing success at NLHE tables. What is certain is that Niklas Heinecker has plenty of reasons to be optimistic about what December might bring, after setting the bar high the previous month. These are the four players who finished November on a high note:

ragen70 – $292,000

PostflopAction – $161,600

SanIker – $93,000

Jeans89 – $79,000
