“The Tiger Jam” Poker Charity Event

Tiger Woods is to host a massive $10,000 buy-in charity poker event in conjunction with the Word Poker Tour (WPT) that is set to take place on May 17th.

The event has been named “The Tiger Jam” in a press release in which it was announced Phil Hellmuth is playing a major role alongside Tiger Woods, to bring this poker event to the tables. This is a team up amongst players and organisations from the world of poker with one of the biggest names in golf, and the event is sure to raise a large sum of money to be donated to charity, namely ‘The Tiger Woods Foundation’.

Both Tiger Woods and Phil Hellmuth are well known in the arenas they ply their trades.  Hellmuth, being more at home in this event, boasts 13 World Series of Poker gold bracelets, but when it comes to tournament career earnings’ Woods is far ahead. However, Woods has pulled in his cash, to the tune of $100 million, through Golf tournaments on the green grass while Hellmuth has stacked up roughly one sixth of this amount with $17.3 on the green felts.

There will also be a host of other WSOP winners joining in the action, including the second all-time WSOP bracelet winner Doyle Brunson who currently has 10 gold bracelets. We can also expect Mike Sexton who has already announced his presence to be anticipated.

It was the USA Today that first officially publicised the event would be taking place, and that the centre stage for the charity rumble will take place in Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay. This is the second annual poker charity event encouraging participants to come along via a host of mouth-watering prizes up for grabs, including getting on the greens with Tiger Woods for a round of golf, plus a chance to win spots in the Pro-Am in some of the top PGA tour events.

The tournament will last over a period of 2 days where there will be plenty of high stakes poker in around the event with gourmet cuisine and VIP guest appearances from all around the world. On top of this, the WPT will be recording snippets of the event that will be broadcasted on the WPT on FSN in the very near future.

Last time this event took place we saw 2nd in WSOP bracelets Doyle Brunson beat 1st in WSOP gold bracelets, Phil Hellmuth heads-up.

Once the event is all said and done, the festivities will continue over to the Moorea Beach Club just around the corner in Mandalay Bay, where the Lifehouse will be playing out live. On top of this, the Rebel Soul Tour organised by Kid Rock is also going to join in the mix.

The event is sure to be popular with plenty of people flying in for the event in view of getting $10,000 down in advance of the $25,000 WPT World Championship that will be played soon after.
