The UK Poker Championships has been running throughout the past few days at the Dusk Till Dawn poker club in Nottingham and has seen the original field of 621 players now whittled down to the final table of nine that is battling it out for the title.
This event attracted plenty of big names to the felt including the likes of Sam Trickett, Toby Lewis and World Series Of Poker bracelet winner Dave “DevilFish” Ulliott. However none of those managed to get themselves to that final table and it is now Alexander Spencer that sits with the best chance of winning the title.
Spencer managed to rack up 5,200,000 chips to put him firmly out in front as his closest rival Danny Blair is on just 3,115,000. Others on the final table include Danny Blair and Paul Delaney and they are certainly not there to just make the numbers up.
Despite such a lead you will all know that anything can happen on a final table, especially when that final table has some very experienced players on it. The most recognisable name has to be Charles “Chaz” Chattha but John Haigh and James Rimmer are also highly regarded professional players too.
The big stories on the final table though are that of Allan Graham and Deborah O’Connell who both qualified for this event through satellites costing just £2.80 and £1 respectively. They both now stand a chance at winning the £125,000 first place payout. If either of those players manages to claim this title, it would surely be a huge and equally amazing story.
