UKIPT Cork Main Event Day 3 – Keller In Top Spot

shutterstock_23106220We are now just one more session away from discovering the winner of the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour Cork Main Event as we saw Day 3 played out to the final table yesterday. There were 33 players remaining at the start of the play, with each of them trying to establish a place amongst the final table of eight to be played to a winner a little later today.

Pawel Keller is the player who mathematically has the best chance at finishing as the winner, after accumulating 1,524,000 in chips which has him just at the top of the leader board. He has Thomas Finneran breathing heavily down his neck though, with the leader coming into Day 3 playing well enough to keep himself involved right at the top of the order.

In fact, between the top two, they have already amassed more than half of the chips in the event, meaning the other players have it all to do when the play resumes.

The Current Top Ten!

Pawel Keller – 1,524,000

Thomas Finneran – 1,415,000

Deborah Worley-Roberts – 795,000

Stephen McGrath – 610,000

Alexander Rhys-Davies – 457,000

Fridjon Thordarson – 336,000

Pascal Töngi – 289,000

Nicholas Newport – 195,000

No More For Team PokerStars!

There were two players represented by PokerStars still in the event yesterday, yet both of them fell to the sword throughout the day. Dale Philip was the first to go; the popular PokerStars Team Online member was in fact eliminated by the other in PokerStars Team Pro Liv Boeree. She got lucky to hit a queen on the river when all of the chips were in the middle, with her holding the Qc-7c and Philip the Ad-9h.

She too was not too last the day though, eventually running into pocket tens when she shoved with a Kd-7s and not managing to find that elusive king on the board.

Other big names shown the door on this event included Richard Sinclair, Neil Raine and the highest finishing online qualifier Dara O’Kearney. Each of them just missed out on a final table berth and will now have to wait until the next UKIPT stop to attempt a title.
