UKIPT Season 3 Bristol – Day 1b

UKIPT Season 3 Bristol – Day 1b

The second flight of Day 1 of the UKIPT Season 3 in Bristol was staged yesterday with the event at the Gala Harbourside Casino attracting another 315 players to the felt. By the end of the day the chip leader was Marinos Mina who finished with a well earned stack of 138,800.

His lead was not a large one though as he had Emanuele Pani right on his heels with 127,400 and UKIPT Season 1 winner Andrew Coleridge a little further back with a stack of 95,200. Both of these players are in a good position to challenge the chip leader through Day 2.

Boeree On The Scene!

PokerStars brought along a small selection of Team Pros to make an assault on the event with players such as Liv Boeree, Chris De Meulder and Mickey Petersen. Boeree struggled all day having losing a big pot early on when her pocket aces got cracked and she was eventually eliminated, De Meulder too struggled but managed to scrape through to Day 2 with 9,200 and Peterson joined Boeree on the rail late on in the day.

Other Notables!

We also saw Vicky Coren on the felt, though she too endured a difficult afternoon, such as suffering a huge bad beat when she held quads but lost when Dempsey had hit a Royal Flush. That could have been the death of the average player, yet she showed magnificent resilience to recoup a decent stack and will in fact be heading into Day 2 with a chip count of 29,400.

It’s not the biggest stack, yet she could carry the momentum on and cause some problems as the event rolls on.

Day 2!

In total there has been 550 enter into the event over the two first day flights which has generated a prize pool of £373,450. The winner will obviously take the lions share to the tune of £90,400 whilst the minimum payout sits at £1,000 for the player who finishes in the last payout position of 72nd.

There will be 239 players returning for Day 2 after the combined survivors from both Day 1a and Day 1b converge on the felt at 12pm GMT today. That start time allows for a nice lie in and possible a good old English breakfast before they look to feed on another hunger…for money.

We will bringing you a full report of exactly what goes down on Day 2 of the event as soon as we get word ourselves, so make sure you head back here to keep yourself updated.
