Weekly High Stakes – Hansen Up $1 Million Plus

American dollars

There has been plenty of live tournament action for players to take part in across the last seven days but the online action seemed barely affected. There was plenty of action and plenty of big money changing hands at the tables.

The biggest story was that of Gus Hansen who finally managed to have a good week to the tune of more than a million in profits. He has deserved a bit of a run after a disastrous few years online and hopefully he can carry on with this great form that he is showing.

The weekend once again drew some top quality online high stakes cash action that brought some excellent profits for a number of players. “Denoking”, Gus Hansen and Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius were the biggest winners across the weekend after notching up scores of $392.6k, $388.5k and $324.8k respectively.

Monday saw Gus Hansen again enjoy a successful time at the tables after another profit of $259.5k at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables. He was not the day’s biggest earner though as that accolade fell to “Crazy Elior” with $430.9k in profits.

Gus Hansen had his run of luck slowed a little on Tuesday but managed to finish with only a small loss after winning some back later in the day. “SanIker” topped the day’s charts after having a success to the tune of $137.9k at the 2-7 Triple Draw tables.

Wednesday again saw the 8-Game and 2-7 Triple Draw tables being the most popular as “PostFlopAction” recorded the best profits of $230/7k. He was closely followed by Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius on $222.3k and “samrostan” on $205.1k.

Gus Hansen really does seem to be turning the corner after storming to more profits at the online high stakes cash tables. This time he banked a whopping $730.9k to put him at almost $1.5 million in profit since the weekend. Most of this profit was earned at the $2,000/$4,000 2-7 Triple Draw tables where he played against the likes of “sanIker” and “Kagome Kagome”.

The week finished with a nice score of $465.3k for “samrostan”. He put in a mammoth session at the tables of around 18 hours and took in variations such as Pot Limit Omaha, 2-7 Triple Draw and Mixed Games. The largest chunk of his profit came from Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond at the 8-Game tables.

That is it for the previous week’s worth of action at the online high stakes tables at both Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars. Join us next week to see whether the players running hot throughout last week can keep that going.
