World Series Of Poker Circuit Horseshoe – Preview

The latest World Series Of Poker Circuit tournament has been quietly operating in the background this week with the WSOPE and the EPT San Remo taking most of the headlines. The week saw 11 of the 12 events completed with just the $1,675 NLHE Main Event currently ongoing this weekend.

With regards to the previous events in this tournament, probably the most exciting one so far was the 6th event, the $365 NLHE event managed to attract a healthy field of 225 players which built up a prize pool of $67,500. The final table in this event was a closely fought contest as it brought together some recognizable faces such as triple ring winner Ari Engel who had around the same chip[s as the chip leader Craig Jackson and Jonathan Taylor who was looking to win his third ring of the season. Taylor previously won the two first WSOP Circuit stops at Biloxi and Bossier City.

Taylor though was unable to get that third ring, by the time he reached the final table he was short stacked and did well in the end to finish in 5th place. He is still leading the National Leaderboard though and in fact extended his lead by a further 25 points.

Engel did much better though, managing to navigate his way all the way to heads up between James Sloat. They both held around the same amount of chips in the heads up session, but Engel couldn’t find the cards to beat his opponent and Sloat took home his first ever ring and a career best score of $16,538.

There are still a number of stops left on the WSOP Circuit to come, so Taylor cannot feel too comfortable about winning the National Leaderboard just yet.
