WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Day 1b Has Record Field
The second flight of the ever popular World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star has just come to an end, with it proving to be the most successful event here of all time. So far there have been a total of 635 entries across the two days, though that number can still increase as buy-ins are allowed right up until the start of Day 2.
That means the previous record of 516 has been completely smashed, with it probably being smashed even further. There were 365 players coming into Day 1b, to add to the 270 from Day 1a, though the day ended with just 144 and 109 survivors respectively. This means there will be a combined 253 players at the minimum starting Day 2 later today.
It was Rhea Motley who finished up as the day’s chip leader, with her bagging up 243,100 to see her around 10k better off than Steven Kelly in second place.
There were still plenty of notable pokernames making it through to Day 2 though, as well as many who failed. Names certain to be there later include Eugene Katchalov, Maria Ho, Andy Frankenberger and Bertrand Grospellier. Those who failed though included Phil Hellmuth, Barry Greenstein, Dan Shak, Joe Serock and British pro Chris Moorman.
We have two of the more notable players tweets regarding their performances on the felt, with both having completely different outcomes.
