WPT Legends Of Poker – Jordan Cristos Victorious

Jordan Cristos in WPT Legends of Poker

The Bicycle Casino in L.A brought the six remaining players back to the felt for Day 5 of the World Poker Tour Legends Of Poker in order to allow them to battle it out for this prestigious title. By the time the event had played out, there was just one player remaining in Jordan Cristos.

He scooped $613,355 after playing excellently the whole way through this event and in particular on this last day.

Chip Counts And Seating At Start Of Play

S1) John Gordon – 2,935,000

S2)  Jordan Cristos – 4,265,000

S3)  Alexandru Masek – 2,890,000

S4)  Phil Laak – 4,730,000

S5)  Ryan Goindoo – 5,570,000

S6)  Dan Heimiller – 1,070,000

The day started with Ryan Goindoo leading the field of players which included a couple of big names in Dan Heimiller and Phi Laak, with Laak not being able to progress too much further after getting unlucky in a massive hand that put him to the bottom of the chip counts. He did manage to claw on for fifth place but he would have been hoping for far more.

Jordan Cristos managed to turn his third largest stack at the start of the day into one that lasted until he finally got to heads up against Dan Heimiller. He was behind at that point with just under 9 million chips compared to his opponents 12 million, though that wasn’t going to be for too long.

In fact after just 27 hands he was well in front, though the session didn’t come to an end until the 119th hand. That hand saw Heimiller push all of his chips into the middle with the Kh-4h and got a call from Cristos with the Ah-9h. Heimiller was behind and couldn’t improve on a board of 10d-9c-7c-Qs-6s and Cristos was awarded the title and $613,355 first place payout.
