WPT Prague Main Event Day 3 – All Players Chasing Chang

Day 3 of the World Poker Tour Prague Main Event saw 78 players coming back for another day of high octane poker action, with just 22 of them coming out of the other end still in with a shout at the title. The man sitting in the best position going into Day 4 is Tony Chang who came out of Day 3 with a chip count of 2,173,000.

He will be concentrating on maintaining his position in the hope of scooping the first place payout of $423,957 as well as a free seat at the WPT Champions Club.

Day 3 had us wondering what everybody had eaten for breakfast as the action was expected to start slowly due to the bubble approaching, it in fact was the complete opposite as we lost an amazing 22 players within the first hour and a half.

Amongst those was the unfortunate bubble boy who on this occasion was the Russian player Dimitry Grishin who was eliminated by Elio Fox who was holding the As-Kh. Also amongst those early knockouts was Nicolas Levi and the rather annoyed looking Benjamin Pollak.

Other notable players that went looking for the exit signs during Day 3 included Morten Christensen, Manuel Bervand, Elisabeth Hille, Lucille Cailly and Toby Lewis. There are still plenty involved though as names such as Jason Mercier, Dmitry Gromov, Kevin MacPhee and Mikhail Mazunin still find themselves involved despite being outside the top ten.

Elio Fox was the player that held the chip lead for most of the day, yet he was eventually overtaken by four players during the very last level of the day. Tony Chang headed for the top spot followed by Bodo Sbrzesny, Konstantin Danilov and Michael Gagliano.

Gagliano himself was the chip leader briefly during the day but as it finished it is certainly Tony Chang that the players will need to chase down. He is a good 400k in chips ahead of his closest competitor and a further 300k ahead of the rest.

The Current Top Ten!

Tony Chang – 2,173,000

Bodo Sbrzesny – 1,703,000

Yann Dion – 877,000

The action continues at 1pm local time today with the final 22 players being whittled right down to that all important final table. Stick with us if you want to find out what players will be left to fight it out for the title and which player was the unfortunate final table bubble boy.
