The Ante Only event at the World Series of Poker has only been running since 2012 but it is quickly turning into one of the most popular formats at the series. PokerStars Team Pro Daniel Negreanu opted to take part in the event for the first time this year and he has nothing but great things to say about the event.
The event takes away the blinds that you would normally see in many other events and instead forces each player at the table to pay an ante. Then, the player directly to the left of the button has the choice to either fold or post the bring-in. The action starts from there with players able to bet as much as they like.
Take a look at why Negreanu and a selection of other players love the game enough to head to Twitter to share their feelings.
Ante only no limit holdem is 1000 times more fun and skillful than holdem with blinds. Everyone should try it you will love it

Try this in your home game: everyone ante $1 with no blinds. First player left of the button can call $1, raise, or fold. Great way to learn

If you want to improve your post flop skills. Taking out the blinds allows for more intricate decisions post flop. Have fun guys!

Ante Only NLH would make poker more FUN! Average player goes from folding 75% of the time to calling over 80%. Less watching more PLAYING!
