WSOP Day 28 – Mercier Leads Players’ Championship

Although Day 28 of the World Series of Poker was scheduled to deliver one bracelet winner, the event had to be put back another day to decide the winner. Despite this, there was plenty of top quality action going down in Las Vegas, particularly in the $50k Poker Players Championship which currently sees PokerStars Team Pro Jason Mercier at the top of the chip counts.

Event #44 – $1.5k NLHE Day 3 – Morgan and McNiff Need Extra Day

Event 44 was due to bring us the first bracelet of the day bit due to two tired players and two very even stacks both Jordan Morgan and Evan McNiff decided to finish off business on Day 29 of the WSOP. It is hard to blame them after their heads up session had already lasted six hours by the time they decided to call it a day.

Event #45 – $1k NLHE Day 3 Prada-Moed Leads Final 12

144 players returned for Day 3 of this event and after ten long hours there were just 11 of them remaining. Leading the way going into Day 3 will be Angela Prada-Moed after her haul of 961,000 put her ahead of the likes of Loren Klein and Ivan Saul.

Event #46 – $50k Poker Players Championship Day 2 – Mercier Leads 55

The Poker Players Championship has now reached Day 3 after the field of 80 survivors from Day 1 returned to the felt and were also increased to by another 22 from late registrations. Come the end of play however, there were just 55 players remaining going into Day 3. Jason Mercier leads that field, with fellow PokerStars Team Pro member, Jonathan Duhamel, following but there is still plenty of action to get through just yet.

The final event of the day saw the beginning of the $1.5k Ante Up only event. It attracted a healthy field of 714 players that were quickly decimated to just 80 by the time Day 1 had come to a close. Ryan D’Angelo sits in the best position with 120,400 chips but has the likes of Dan Kelly, Max Silver and Jason Somerville all playing well in the top ten.
