WSOP Event #38 Day 2 – Pham Leads Final Table

WSOP chips

wsop chipsWith the weekend coming to an end, the action certainly isn’t at the World Series of Poker just yet. Event #38 saw the field reduced down to just the final table of eight due to do business later on today.

The man at the top right now is David Pham as he has amassed 911,000 chips in the $2.5k No Limit Holdem Four Handed event thus far. He has a fairly decent lead at the top but will know he has to put in one more shift, especially with players like John Juanda, Daniel Park and Nick Schwarmann eyeing his position at the top.

On a busy day of eliminations there were casualties of the ilk of Nicolas Cardyn, Ivan Demidov, Maria Ho, Scott Baumstein, Justin Young and Faraz Jaka. The latter came into the day in second place on the chip counts but couldn’t maintain his good run and eventually fell today.

The eight will return a little later to do battle until just one of them is left standing with the bracelet and $309,071 payout. With us two thirds of the way through this year’s WSOP, players will now start to get itchy at potentially missing out on a bracelet.

The Final Table!

David Pham – 911,000

Nick Schwarmann – 789,000

Jared Jaffee – 617,000

Daniel Park – 480,000

John Juanda – 466,000

Jonathan D’Souza – 446,000

Justin Oliver – 300,000

Mike DeGilio – 253,000

It must be nice to know that your $2.5k has now turned into a minimum payout of $29,770, even if you might have higher ambitions. All players will obviously want the top finish especially because of the bracelet that is on offer.

The Remaining Payouts!

1st – 309,071

2nd – 191,434

3rd – 129,447

4th – 89,736

5th – 54,770

6th – 54,770

7th – 29,770

8th – 29,770

Check back with us again tomorrow to see if Pham can hold off the rest of them to take the title. A couple of double ups and any player are right back in the game, so he will have to keep up his strong performance so far.
