Sandeep Pulusani

It was another busy day at the World Series of Poker but it only awarded the one bracelet, with that being handed out on Day 3 of the $3k No limit Holdem event. There were initially 22 players that came back for some action on Day 3, but just five hours later that number was down to the final nine on the final table.

Despite there still being plenty of big names in the event at the start of play with the likes of Jason Mercier, Randy Lew, Sorel Mizzi and Lauren Kling it was actually Sandeep Pulusani that came out on top to win his first ever WSOP bracelet.

He did it in style too as he had a huge disadvantage when he managed to find his way to heads up against Niall Farrell. His opponent had an eight to one advantage but couldn’t keep it as Pulusani made double up after double up before putting himself in front.

The final hand then occurred when both players had very similar hands in an A-3 and A-2 but a three on the flop gave Pulusani the title, bracelet and $592,684 payout.

Amongst the players that didn’t quite make the final table out of the twenty two were some well known players of the ilk of Jason Mercier, Matt Marafioti, Justin Zaki and Jacob Schindler, though each will be happy enough to have at least made a deep run and cashed for their efforts.

Final Table Payouts!
1st) Sandeep Pulusani – $592,684
2nd) Niall Farrell – $366,815
3rd) Michael Rocco – $229,500
4th) Martin Hanowski – $166,579
5th) Zo Karim – $122,974
6th) Mark Teltscher – $92,186
7th) Nam Le – $70,120
8th) Pedro Rios – $54,053
9th) Phillippe Vert – $42,230
