WSOP Event #53 Day 2 – Cohen Ahead With 25 To Go

Ace, King and chipsEvent #53 has now reached the business end of proceedings after Day 2 sliced the field down in size from the 320 that had successfully navigated their way from Day 1 to just 25 that will return again for Day 3.

Jonathan Cohen sits comfortably at the top of the chip rankings after becoming the only player to secure more than a million with 1,378,000. He heads a top ten that includes the British David Vamplew, Mike Watson and Sean Wallace, whilst other notables in the remaining field include Humberto Brenes, Robert Hwang and Kitty Kuo.

Not everybody could squeeze into Day 3 so we had the usual influx of eliminations on Day 2, with some pretty big names scattered amongst them. Out of the tournament went Matthias De Meulder, Jesse Cohen, Goran Mandic, Barry Greenstein, Ivan Demidov and Chris Moorman as each of them couldn’t quite do enough to progress.

There are now just five days until the start of the Main Event meaning just a few more bracelets are now on offer. This means the players will now have to go all out and play their ‘A’ game if they wish to be one of the lucky ones and pick one up.
