WSOP Event #58 Day 1b – Dutt Claims Overall Lead
The second and final opening day flight in the $1,111 ‘Little One For One Drop’ saw another 2,523 players take to the felt to bring the overall total up to 4,756 across both days, this number was then drastically shortened to just 588 who will now go onto join the 428 that beat Day 1a into Day 2.
The leader from Day 1b actually proved to be the overall leader in the event after the haul made by Suraj Dutt of 90,125 was enough to beat out the top score of 85,225 made by Mikolaj Zawadzki on Day 1.
He found also found himself ahead of some real notables on the day, with PokerStars Team pro Humberto Brenes, Brynn Kenney, Bryan Piccioli, Antonio Esfandiari and Barry Greenstein found in the chasing pack right behind him.

The are some more notable names a little further back in the pack that cannot be counted out just yet too as Vladimir Geshkenbein, Joseph Cheong, Toby Lewis, Victor Ramdin, Ronnie Bardah and Mike McDonald all managed to build sufficient stacks to see them progress into Day 2.
Though they are not at the top end of the counts they will still be counting their blessings that they are still in the event as others couldn’t quite make it. Amongst those that did suffer elimination on Day 1b were Phil Ivey, Pius Heinz, Joe Cada, Carlos Mortensen, Chris Moorman, Phil Laak and T.J Cloutier. Ivey was in fact the very last elimination of the evening, further compounding his poor WSOP so far.
The Top Ten From Day 1b!
