WSOP Main Event Day 2a/b – Stanisfer Leads

rio in las vegas

Day 2a/b of the World Series of Poker Main Event combined the survivors from both Day 1a and Day 1b of the event and finished with just around 700 players advancing. Those players will now have to wait a day to see how many survivors will be joining them from Day 2c into Day 3.

Tim Stansifer is the player leading this current batch of survivors on 481,500 and although it’s a great start for him personally, he will know that there is still a very long way to go.

Of the notables that managed to earn another day at the felt, there was Martin Jacobson, Antonio Esfandiari, Faraz Jaka, Marvin Rettenmaier, Erik Seidel, Huck Seed and PokerStars Team Pro Chris Moneymaker.

Not all notables will be going to bed happy though as we lost the likes of Greg Merson, Mike Sexton, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Annette Obrestad and PokerStars Team Pro Vanessa Selbst during the day’s action.

Day 2c gets underway at the same time as this one did tomorrow and will reveal who will also be heading into Day 3 of the most famous poker tournament in the world. Catch up update on proceedings tomorrow.
