Day 4 of the World Series of Poker Main Event is now in the books after another thrilling day at the tables for the players. The players that came into the day had to negotiate the bubble period before cementing themselves into the paying places.
Once the day had finished the field had been reduced to just 291 players with Matthew Haugen being the one to finish up with the chip lead. He amassed 2,808,000 chips, giving him an almost 500k advantage over Zach Jiganti in second place.
Of the notables still involved, Griffin Benger and Dan Smith are the highest ranked after building up stacks of 2,329,000 and 2,229,000 respectively. Brian Hastings is also in the top ten with a chip count 2,079,000, meaning we have some very strong players left in the event.
Ended Day 4 of #WSOPMainEvent with 2.3m. #LFG

As for the eliminations, the biggest name was Phil Ivey who fell in 430th place whilst he was also joined on the rail by the likes of Phil Galfond, Angel Guillan, Olivier Busquet, Faraz Jaka and Jonathan Little. It was a good performance by each player to have even made it this far but they will obviously be disappointed not to have made deeper runs.
I’m out of the Main Event. Thank you for all the support this Summer.
