WSOP Main Event Day 4 – Lane Leads Remaining 239

Jonathan Lane in Day 4 of 2013 WSOP Main Event

Jonathan Lane

On probably the most entertaining day of the World Series Of Poker Main Event so far, Day 4 saw the 666 remaining players brought back to the felt, through the bubble to leave just 239 to go into Day 5 by the end of the day.

At the top end of the field is Jon Lane after he managed to notch up quite a few more chips on Day 4 to finish with 2,839,000. He leads a top ten that is full of unknowns, though a little further back there are certainly a number of names that you will all have heard of.

Vladimir Geshkenbein lurks just outside of the top ten whilst Max Steinberg, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Annette Obrestad, Ronnie Bardah, Kyle Julius, JC Tran, Marvin Rettenmaier, Noah Schwartz and last year’s winner Greg Merson all still have stacks that stand a very good chance of running even deeper than they have so far.

Brunson Out! Before the World Series of Poker started this year, Doyle Brunson made a statement that he wouldn’t be playing the tournament series this year. As it turns out however he couldn’t resist the same urge that he has at this time of the year to take part in the Main Event. He had run fairly well during the early days of this event but Day 4 was as far as the poker icon could get after he went out during a coin flip against Sergei Stazhkov.

He was joined on the rail by hundreds of players throughout the day with the more notable of them being Marcel Luske, Luke Schwartz, Ivan Demidov, Melanie Weisner, Bertrand Grospellier and a November niner from last year in Russell Thomas.
