WSOP Main Event Day 7: ‘November 9’ Revealed

Day 7 of the World Series of Poker Main Event started out with 27 players all hoping their dreams would come true and they would be part of that illustrious ‘November Nine’ final table. They had each had to navigate past seven days at the felt to get this far but just nine of them would get to see at least another.

Jorryt van Hoof is the man that will start that final table as the chip leader after bagging up a magnificent 38,375,000 chips. This means that he and the other remaining players have now locked up at least $730,725 and as much as $10,000,000 for winning the title.

The biggest achievement had to be that of Mark Newhouse who has now made it two years on the trot that he has reached the World Series of Poker Main Event final table. He finished in 9th place last year with a payout of $733,224, though that time he started as the short stack and this year he starts third in chips with 26,000,000.

He has just Felix Stephensen on 32,775,000 between him and Jorryt van Hoof and is now well placed to make an improvement on last year’s result. Others on that final table include Andoni Larrabe, Dan Sindelar as well as notable pro Martin Jacobson who despite coming into Day 7 with the chip lead will now be one of the two shortest stacks come November. Of those that were unable to make their dreams come true on Day 7 were the likes of Dan Smith, Eddy Sabat, Kyle Keranen, Leif Force and final table bubble boy Luis Velador.

We now have to wait until November to discover which of these players will fulfil their dreams and become the latest 2014 World Series of Poker champion.
