WSOPE Main Event Day 2 – Nitsche Pushes Ahead

Dominik Nitsche

The registration period in the World Series of Poker Europe has now finished after the period was closed as soon as the cards went into the air on Day 2. This meant that we have had a total field for this event of 375 players, though there are only 70 that remain after Day 2 had finished.

Leading them into Day 3 will be Dominik Nitsche, with the former EPT and WPT Champion now looking to add a bracelet to his name.

There are plenty of players behind him that are more than capable of grabbing a bracelet themselves so he will be fully aware that there is plenty more work to be done. He has Ludovic Lacay hot on his tails and Jay Farber, Benny Spindler and Fabrice Soulier all in the top ten.

Further back we have the likes of Jeremy Ausmus, Shannon Shorr, Scott Clements and WSOP Player of the Year frontrunner Daniel Negreanu.

Some of the bigger names in world poker couldn’t quite find themselves progressing into Day 3 as we lost the two Phil’s in Ivey and Hellmuth along with Liv Boeree and Martin Finger also having to wait for another day for a bracelet.

The 70 survivors will now be having some well earned rest before coming back today to start fighting out for a place on the final table. So join us then as we will also be able to bring you the remaining payouts, as the only information we have right now is that the total prize pool for the event is €3,600,000 with the winner taking home €1,000,000 of it.
