WSOPE Main Event Day 1b – Lacay Looking For Vengeance

Ludovic Lacay

The World Series of Poker Europe Main Event is now safely into Day 2 after Day 1b was completed yesterday. Though the figure has not yet been confirmed, it looks as though there were around 205 players that bought into the day in the hope of progressing into Day 2 along with all of the survivors of Day 1a.

Many players would still be depressed following missing out on a WSOPE bracelet a couple of days ago after losing heads up, yet Ludovic Lacay has used that disappointment to spur himself to play even better and has finished Day 1b as the chip leader.

He bagged and tagged 163,075 chips to put himself just under 10k ahead of Ravik Raghavan in 2nd place. He leads a top ten that includes Igor Kurganov, Loni Harwood and Jordan Cristos and will be happy with his performance whilst acknowledging that there is still a very long way to go.

Others who made it through included Liv Boeree, Jonathan Duhamel, Phil Ivey, Phil Hellmuth and Andy Frankenberger, with each hoping they can enjoy a deep run to put themselves in with a shot at the title.

Among the players that couldn’t quite put a decent enough performance in to make Day 2 were Scott Seiver, Phil Laak, David Baker and Juha Helppi. This means that they now only have the High Roller event left to try and lay claim to a WSOP bracelet in 2013.
