WSOPE Main Event Day 4 – Mateos Now Leads Final Table

Adrian Mateos

The latter stages of this World Series of Poker Europe Main Event have certainly been played at a frantic pace. Day 3 was completed in under six hours and Day 4 in less than four to see the remaining 24 players cut down to just the eight that will contest the final table later today.

It was again Adrian Mateos that finished the day as the chip leader, with it being the third day in a row that he has done so. If he can manage that feat just one more time he will have been crowned the WSOPE Main Event bracelet winner.

He goes into that final table with a stack of 3,781,000 and has a healthy lead of more than a million on his closest rival Dominik Nitsche.

During a frantic day Mateos never lost his chip lead and now looks incredibly strong for that final push today. There is still some work to do but he has played superbly to put himself in this position going into the final session. Yu will already know that anything can happen on a final table so it is certainly not set in stone just yet.

Others that made the final table include Benny Spindler, Fabrice Soulier and Ragi Raghaven, with each of these players having the required calibre to be able to take this event down on the final day.

The day saw the likes of Shannon Shorr, Daniel Steinberg and final table bubble boy Andrei Konopelko eliminated, though they will all be fairly satisfied with their performances in the event.

The action on the final table gets underway at 2pm local time over in France and will play until there is just one player remaining to claim the title and bracelet.
